I don’t always support men in the birth space.
Sometimes there’s no men there at all for a variety of reasons.
But one of the greatest gifts of being a birth worker is working with men who genuinely love women (or birthing people in whatever identity). I seriously love that part of the job so much when the opportunity arises.
Men who want their partner to have whatever they need for a wonderful birth experience. Men who see the wonder, strength and magic of birth and of all their partner achieves in the process. Men who act as a container for whatever path the birth takes. Men who just want to know what they can do.
Holding space for these men is a dead set privilege.
In the world we live in- if there’s something in this world that reignites my faith in the masculine side of humanity, it’s this experience. 💖
